Indonesian authorities in West Java shut down a “baby‑to‑order” human trafficking ring on July 18, rescuing 13 infants and arresting 13 suspects involved in illegally selling newborns. Traffickers allegedly falsified documents and coordinated sales domestically and internationally. Officials highlighted vulnerability of impoverished mothers and emphasized ongoing efforts to strengthen identity verification and support systems for new parents.
